Bridges began his musical career in the early 1990s, playing in various punk and hardcore bands in the Los Angeles area. In 1998, he co-founded The Icarus Line with guitarist Jeff Watson and bassist Troy Van Leeuwen. The band released their debut album, Mono, in 2000, followed by Penance Soiree in 2002.
The Icarus Line was known for their chaotic live shows, and Bridges was often cited as the driving force behind the band’s chaotic onstage antics. In 2003, the band was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for their song “Feed a Cat to Your Cobra.”
Bridges left The Icarus Line in 2006, and the band subsequently disbanded in 2009. He then joined the hardcore punk band Off! in 2010, appearing on the band’s debut album, First Four EPs. He remained with the band until 2013, when he left to focus on his solo career.
